The Languedoc Portraits

iPad with gallery of images
A series of paintings from my travels in Languedoc

In June 2024, I joined a wine media tour of the Languedoc to meet producers, taste wines, and revisit one of my favorite territories in France.

Instead of a standard tasting report, I’ve produced naturalistic portraits of six women who work in the Languedoc wine industry. Read my essay introducing the series, “Six Women of Languedoc Wine,” which explains my thinking and process and provides an entrée to the portraits. Or go straight to any one of them by clicking an image below.

All images in this series were made using an iPad Pro 12.9″ fifth generation, Apple Pencil second generation, and the app Procreate v. 5.3.14. They are © Meg Maker. Please contact me to discuss licensing or commissions. All travel and accommodations were provided by CIVL.
