TRINK Magazine is an independent quarterly digital publication about wines of Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. Co-editors Paula Sidore and Valerie Kathawala launched the English-language publication in 2020 and swiftly earned respect for the magazine’s in-depth storytelling, producer profiles, and insights into the challenges and opportunities of these winegrowing regions.
I’ve twice written for Trink. My story Epokale: A New Gewürztraminer for the Ages chronicled my visit to Südtirol to taste a sweet wine aged in an abandoned silver mine. In Once and Future St. Laurent, I unraveled some mysteries of this often misunderstood grape and suggested some to try.

I switched gears for my most recent TRINK contributions, offering cover images for three recent volumes: Volume 19, The Mosel, Volume 20, The Summer Edition, and Volume 21, The Pinot Edition. These commissions give me another way to share my understanding of wine — in pictures, not just words.
